Teeth in a Day allow you to get a new set of dental implants in just one appointment. Teeth in a Day are used to replace an entire arch of teeth, either the upper set or lower set. Four to six dental implants are used, rather than one implant for each tooth that needs to be replaced. These implants become the anchor for a bridge or overdenture.
The biggest complaint about traditional dentures is that they slip out of place and make it difficult to speak or eat without worry. While they may be notorious for this, Teeth in a Day offers another viable tooth replacement alternative.
This overdenture is a denture supported by dental implants. The supportive structure of the dental implant allows it to secure the artificial teeth in place. We will secure the dental implants permanently to your jawbone to provide an anchor for the overdenture. This will eliminate the need for any adhesives and ensure your artificial teeth will not slip.
Initial All-on-4 Procedure
We typically use local anesthesia to help the patient deal with any discomfort or mild pain that may occur from the procedure. Once the patient is comfortable, we will make a tiny incision along the gum line to expose the jawbone so we can drill into it and secure the dental implant. Once the implant is placed, we close the incision and allow it to heal properly.
The digitally manufactured dentures are then placed on the dental implants and secured to the framework. We are able to adjust them once they are in place. Once in place, they can be brushed just like the patient's natural teeth.
One type of dental implant is known as a bar-retained denture. This involves the use of a metal bar which is secured to the implant which is embedded into the jawbone. There are typically metal clips attached to the denture to allow them to be clipped onto the permanent implant to prevent any slippage.
The ball-retained denture is the second type of implant supported denture. Small sockets are used to connect the denture to the implant.
